Woman Caught Using Cellphone During National Anthem Is Revealed — and You'll Never Guess Who She Works for or Her Excuse

"Because it's 2015."
It appears the woman who achieved some Internet notoriety after getting caught on camera with her head down, keying away on her cellphone during the national anthem at Saturday's annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, writes for the Washington Post.
Her name is Helena Andrews and she pens an online column for the Post called "The Reliable Source," Polititainment reported. After the hubbub hit, Andrews tweeted about what she was up to when cameras panned to her:
Apparently someone saw me on TV "texting" during the dinner. FTR I was taking notes. On my phone. Because it's 2015. #WHCD

"Apparently someone saw me on TV 'texting' during the dinner," she wrote. "FTR I was taking notes. On my phone. Because it's 2015."
As you might imagine, her reasoning didn't receive a ringing endorsement:
