Family's Car Was So Badly Burned That the Steering Wheel Was Gone, but Wait Until You See What Happened to the Bible That Was Inside

"Your car is on fire."

A man and his wife were in the car on their way to get some gas in Mobile, Alabama, on Thursday, when a man in another car sped up to them and delivered a terrifying message: "Your car is on fire."

Timothy Collier and his wife, who had no idea that flames were coming from the bottom of the car, quickly fled the vehicle — and just in time, as it reportedly burst into flames as soon as they exited.

The car was in such bad shape that the steering wheel and hood were completely gone, and Collier told the outlet that everything in the car was destroyed, aside from one prized item: his family Bible.

"This Bible is the only thing that didn't burn," he told WALA-TV. "The Bible made it through."

At first, Collier said that he and his wife didn't understand what the good samaritan in the other car was trying to tell them, so he simply ignored him.

"When the guy said it the first time, I didn't quite know what he was talking about," Collier told WALA-TV of the man's warning. "So I still tried to get to the gas station."

Luckily, the man turned around and again attempted to deliver the shocking news, this time getting the message to the couple just before the situation turned potentially deadly.
