See the Goal Even ESPN Is Calling the 'Worst Own-Goal Ever

"Goooooal!"

Scoring a goal against one's own team is not unheard of, but how a goalkeeper in Argentina did just that this week is being billed as quite possibly the "worst own-goal ever."

Rodrigo Cervetti with the Comunicaciones playing against Atlanta in a lower-level club game Wednesday somehow managed to fling the ball backward into his own net.

Watch the footage:

The announcers, undeterred by how the goal was scored, still yelled the customary "gooooooal!"

This goal contributed to the Comunicaciones' 5-0 loss at home to the Atlanta.

A similar incident happened last year when a Nigerian goalie, in the middle of a fray, threw the ball into his own net. This incident came amid reports that the game had been fixed.
