Ex-Planned Parenthood Director's Shocking Claim About Fetal Body Parts Controversy

"I used to sift through their bodies and prepare them for transport to the research lab we were contracted with."

A pro-life activist who worked as the director of a Texas Planned Parenthood clinic for eight years before her views on abortion profoundly changed believes that Planned Parenthood is making a profit of between $100 and $200 for each aborted fetus.

"Shipping only costs a clinic $4 to $10 but they are sometimes charging $100 to $200 for each baby," Abby Johnson told The Christian Post. "They are charging additional fees, but in reality there are no additional fees except for minimal shipping costs. There is definitely money to be made and that's an issue with the current law."

Johnson also recently wrote an open letter to Dr. Deborah Nucatola — the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s senior director of medical services who was featured in the first of a series of undercover videos that allegedly show officials discussing the sale of post-abortion fetal tissue and organs — urging her to leave the abortion industry.

Nucatola was seemingly shown in the clip describing how some doctors carefully conduct abortions that leave fetal body parts in tact.

See the video below (caution: graphic):

"I watched the video put out with your face on it. I heard you talking about harvesting fetal body parts. I saw you sip your wine while talking about how to remove an intact fetus," Johnson wrote. "I want you to know that I’m not disgusted by you. I’m not disgusted, because I used to be just like you. You see, my former Planned Parenthood clinic used to harvest fetal body parts. I used to sift through their bodies and prepare them for transport to the research lab we were contracted with."

Johnson explained that, at her clinic, most women who had abortions signed a consent form for donations, as she and her team "made it seem like that by donating, they were helping others...altruism during abortion."

The ex-clinic director went on in the letter to tell Nucatola that she believes that the doctor is misguided, but not evil, and that she understands the desensitization that comes along with the job. That said, Johnson urged her to leave the abortion world behind.

As TheBlaze previously reported, Johnson has become one of the most well-known and outspoken anti-abortion activists in America, as she has publicly detailed how she went from an unsuspecting college student to a volunteer at her local Planned parenthood. Eight years later, she found herself directing the very clinic she started at during her undergraduate years.

It wasn’t until 2009 that Johnson felt compelled to leave her position at the clinic. The exact moment, she claims, came when she was asked to assist in an abortion. This apparently was atypical, as she was the clinic’s director and not a medical professional, however the office was short-staffed, so she stepped into the role.

“The defining moment for me leaving was assisting and witnessing a live ultrasound abortion procedure and seeing a 13-week old child struggle for his life inside his mother’s womb,” Johnson recalled. “It was really shocking for me to witness that mainly because I had been told by Planned Parenthood that the fetus didn’t have any sensory development until [later].”

The pro-life advocate claims she was “in a state of shock” and that she instantaneously felt betrayed. At the same time, she remembers feeling like a liar, as she, too, had told thousands of women that fetuses wouldn’t feel pain or struggle.

“I looked at myself and said, ‘I’m part of the problem’ — and I had been a part of the problem for eight years,” she said.
