Black and White Police Officers' Gripping Photo Response to 'Black Lives Matter' Is Going Viral

Two Texas police officers, one white and one black, offered a gripping message in response to the "Black Lives Matter" movement – and their photo is now going viral.

The Trinity Police Department tweeted out a photo of police Chief Steven Jones and officer Donald Givens back in May, but it didn't relay take off until after American Conservatives of Color posted the image on its Facebook page earlier this week.

It shows the two officers standing next to each other while holding out their hands. On each of their palms is a message that reads, "His life matters," with an arrow pointing to the other officer."

American Conservatives of Color posted the photo to its Facebook page on Monday with a caption that read "Right on, brothers!!" The post has received more than 19,000 "likes" and has been shared more than 96,000 times.

The majority of the comments on the post were positive, with users voicing their support of cops in the wake of large-scale protests stemming from several incidents involving police-involved shootings.

The "Black Lives Matter" movement is one that has tripped up Democratic presidential candidates, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.

Clinton faced a wave of online backlash in June after saying "all lives matter" at an historically black church just a few miles from Ferguson, Missouri, where 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed last August by a police officer.

Like Clinton, O'Malley recently had to walk back his "all lives matter" comment after getting booed by a crowd in Phoenix.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is also running for the Democratic nomination for president, had his own run in with "Black Lives Matter" protesters in Seattle over the weekend, in which he was forced aside from his speaking lectern by two women who later referred to the crowd as "white supremacist liberals."
