Israeli Security Guard Doesn't Know What This Woman Is About to Pull from Her Purse
November 08, 2015
"A seemingly innocent Palestinian woman attempting to enter the town."
A wave of Palestinian stabbing attacks continued on Sunday in Israel with one particularly dramatic moment caught on video as a Muslim woman pulled a knife from her handbag and attacked an Israeli security guard.
The stabbing occurred in the Jewish community of Beitar Illit in the West Bank, when an Israeli security guard at the town’s entrance was apparently checking the identity card of a Palestinian woman trying to enter.
In the video, the woman dressed in a black cloak with her head covered by a black Muslim hijab headscarf stood nonchalantly next to the guard who was looking at her identifying documents. As he was examining the papers, she slowly opened her purse, extracted the knife and lunged at him.

She was shot and wounded by the guard in response, Israeli media reported.
According to the reports, the security guard was lightly wounded and the female stabbing suspect, 22-year-old Halawa Alian from Bethlehem, was being treated at an Israeli hospital after sustaining moderate wounds.
Other violence on Sunday included a car-ramming attack on four pedestrians at a West Bank intersection. Among the injured was a pregnant woman, Israel’s Ynet reported. Additionally, a 48-year-old man was wounded in a second stabbing attack Sunday.
