Former Dallas Cowboy Joseph Randle Was Caught Shoplifting Last Year and Now a Surveillance Video is Out
November 18, 2015
"He didn't need the stuff. That's why everybody is so baffled."
Footage of former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle attempting to steal cologne and underwear from a Dillards last October was released by TMZ Sports early Wednesday morning.
The surveillance footage shows Randle at the Stonebriar Mall in Dallas inconspicuously slipping the merchandise into a bag before eventually being stopped by mall security and a store employee.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Randle referred to the incident as the "biggest mistake of my life." However, despite being caught "red-handed," Randle's charge of misdemeanor theft was later dismissed.
"It wasn't in character for him," Larry Randle Jr., Randle's oldest brother, recently told the Morning News. "It's a young guy growing up. He didn't need the stuff. That's why everybody is so baffled."
Randle was released by the Cowboys on Nov. 3, citing "personal reasons." In six starts for the Cowboys this season, Randle rushed for 315 yards and four touchdowns.
During his time in Dallas, the former Oklahoma State standout made $1.3 million.
