Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Thursday that she thought Republican voters were making a big mistake being dismissive of Sen. Rand Paul's (R-Ky.) supporters.
"I was watching him today Hugh and I'm thinking, 'Republicans, you are idiots to be marginalizing his supporters.' And his dad's supporters too," the former Republican vice presidential nominee said.
Palin added, "What his supporters are saying is, 'C'mon government, get off our back! And allow us to prioritize our finances, our cultural aspects of our life. Let us prioritize according to our own will. Government, don't do it for us.'"
Palin added in the interview that she admired Paul's "libertarian streak," though she said she disagreed with the Kentucky senator on some foreign policy issues.
