Following a Threat From the Hacking Group 'Anonymous,' a Trump Website Crashes

"You have been warned.."

The hacking group Anonymous launched an assault against Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump Friday morning, targeting the website for Trump Tower in New York City.

Shortly following the hack, a Twitter account associated with the hacking group confirmed the attack, saying the takedown was a "statement against racism and hatred."

Earlier in the week, the same group uploaded a video to YouTube, warning the billionaire businessman to "think twice" before he speaks.

"Donald Trump, it has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims from entering the United States," a voice read. "This policy is going to have a huge impact. This is what ISIS wants. The more Muslims feel sad, the more ISIS feels they can recruit them."

"The more the United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims, you can be sure that ISIS will be putting that on their social media campaign," it continued. "Donald Trump, think twice before you speak anything. You have been warned..."

Trump, however, has not wavered in his position that all Muslims should be temporarily barred from entering the United States. In fact, recent polling even suggests that a majority of American voters agree with the real estate mogul.

Trump, though, isn't the only person on Anonymous' list of targets. Over the last few months, the hacking group also has been waging a digital war with the Islamic State.
