When O’Reilly Learned Identity of 'Distant Cousin,' He Was Stunned: 'I Blinked, I Blinked a Lot\

"You can pick your friends, you cannot pick your relatives."

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly made an announcement Monday related to a popular PBS series he will be featured on in early January.

PBS show "Finding Your Roots," hosted by Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, investigates the genealogy of famous people. The new season begins Jan. 5 and O'Reilly's family history is set to be examined on the second episode of the season, scheduled to air Jan. 12.

Tonight, as O'Reilly closed his show, he teased the program with an interesting bit of news

"When [Gates] told me who one of my distant cousins is, I blinked, I blinked a lot," O'Reilly said. "Does the name Bill Maher mean anything?"

"Here's 'The Factor' tip of the day: You can pick your friends, you cannot pick your relatives."
