“There were no vital signs at all.”

Quick action by a police officer in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg saved the life of an 18-month-old girl last Thursday night.

The dash cam video, released on Monday, shows Schaumburg officer Bryan Poradizisz running towards the lifeless body of 18-month-old Aureliana Colon on the side of the road where her grandmother stood sobbing.

The toddler had reportedly stopped breathing.

According to Schaumburg Police Department's Lt. Shawn Green, "There were no vital signs at all," Green told the press.

Poradizisz rolled up on the scene and jumped into action. Using his EMT training, the officer used the Heimlich maneuver to clear the young child's mouth and throat and began administering CPR.

Another Schaumburg officer, Kevin O'Connor was on the scene and assisted Poradizisz in resuscitating the little girl.

EMS arrived shortly after Colon had been revived. The young girl was transported to the hospital and reportedly has made a full recovery.
