Gov. John Kasich won his first state of 2016 tonight — his home state of Ohio.
The Ohio governor was ahead of businessman and front-runner Donald Trump, 43.5 percent to 34.1 percent, with 4 percent of the vote reporting, according to the Associated Press.

Ohio, which is worth 66 delegates, was a must-win state for Kasich.
The candidate, who finished second in New Hampshire, had said he would drop out of the presidential race if he didn't carry his home state.
In a phone interview with CNN immediately after the race was called in his favor, Kasich attributed his victory to the positive campaign he ran in the Buckeye State.
"We're all very, very happy," Kasich said. "I'm just so appreciative of the people of Ohio. It was my third great statewide win, and we have one more to go ... in November."
