Little Bird Sends Sanders Crowd Into Absolute Frenzy When It Lands on the Senator's Podium

"I think there may be some symbolism here."

Pandemonium broke out at a Bernie Sanders rally in Portland, Oregon, Friday when a tiny bird flew onto the Vermont senator's podium.

The Democratic presidential candidate was delivering his stump speech when the crowd first drew his attention to the bird after it landed on the ground near him.

"Now you see, this little bird doesn't know it—," Sanders said.

His sentence was interrupted as the bird fluttered onto the podium and perched up next to the senator, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Moments later, it flew away.

"I think there may be some symbolism here. I know it doesn't look like it, but that bird is really a dove asking us for world peace," Sanders said. "No more wars."
