Trump Chastises Anchor on the Air When He Starts Interview With This Tough Question: 'I'm Not Surprised With CNN
May 09, 2016
"Well this is a nice way to start off the interview."
Donald Trump bristled at CNN anchor Chris Cuomo when he started a Monday morning interview with a question he didn’t like, setting off an uncomfortable, off-topic exchange between the two men.
“You are attacking Hillary Clinton for the sexual past and indiscretions of her husband,” he noted — a tactic that may give voters pause. “What is your thinking on this line of attack?” Cuomo asked.
“Well this is a nice way to start off the interview,” Trump immediately replied.
Listen to the audio of the exchange below:
The presumptive Republican nominee told Cuomo he should’ve started the interview by congratulating him for “having won the race.”
“I thought, you know, at least there would be a small congratulations, but I’m not surprised with CNN because that’s the way they treat Trump,” he added. “You know, they call it the ‘Clinton Network,’ and I believe that.”
Cuomo claimed he congratulated Trump the last time they spoke, but the billionaire was unmoved. He sarcastically responded, “Yeah, thank you very much — so warm and so well felt.”
Trump eventually discussed Cuomo’s initial question on his line of attack against Clinton, claiming he rarely talks about Bill Clinton's "infidelity" or other personal issues during his campaign.
Trump also claimed his comments about the rich paying more in taxes was "misrepresented." Watch him explain:
