When the completed ship is unveiled, it's easy to see why the bill was so big.

A cruise ship is essentially everything a person could need jam-packed into one town floating on water, so one could imagine constructing such a vessel would be quite the undertaking.

In a time lapse video uploaded to YouTube earlier this month, viewers watch architects and construction workers build the American/British-owned German AIDA Cruises' new cruise liner, the AIDAprima, in Nagasaki, Japan.

The new flagship is nearly 1,000 feet long and can hold up to 3,300 passengers with a massive 900-member crew.

Ultimately, the mammoth vessel cost $645 million to construct, and, when the completed ship is unveiled, it's easy to see why the bill was so big.
