Krauthammer: Obama Administration is 'Fanatical' About Hiding 'Connection' Between Islam and Terrorism
June 20, 2016
"That's a larger issue and that's disturbing."
Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer slammed President Barack Obama's administration Monday for first releasing a redacted version of the Orlando killer's 911 call transcript.
He called the administration's original decision to release a redacted transcript, which removed all references to Islam, as "stupid," "ridiculous" and "an embarrassment."
"Everybody could see what the words underneath were," Krauthammer said. "And what exactly are they accomplishing in pretending they weren't said?"
"It exposes the administration as fanatical in trying to cover up and hide the connection with Islam," he added.
The Fox News contributor noted the fact that the shooter, Omar Mateen, pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State and terror leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi via the 911 call.
"And you're gonna pretend it's something else that has to do with guns or has to do with homophobia?" Krauthammer asked. "It's not gonna happen.
Krauthammer added that the redaction, which was later removed, exposes the Obama administration's lack of "respect" for truthful record-keeping, noting the 2013 incident when the State Department deleted questions from Fox News reporter James Rosen about the government's Iran negotiations.
"The Obama administration has no respect for historical record, for actual events," he said. "And that's a larger issue and that's disturbing."
