Obamacare diehards hold 'cough-in' protest at Trump restaurant — and conservative actor shreds them
January 18, 2017
In a move that likely unnerved — and perhaps grossed out — lunch patrons at the high-end Trump International Hotel and Tower restaurant, protesters held a "cough-in" at the New York City eatery against the proposed Obamacare repeal.
It started with one protester — 60-year-old Mark Milano — hacking at the back of the restaurant, the New York Daily News reported.
Soon about 15 others joined "flash mob"-style — and then before you could yell "cover your mouth!" the Central Park West room was filled with the sounds of coughing.
That was soon followed by chanting: "We need Obamacare! Trumpcare makes us sick!"
In cellphone video capturing the Sunday incident, one man was seen grabbing at least two signs from agitators in the hack-filled protest, which the Post said was arranged by Rise and Resist and part of a day of national protest to keep Obamacare alive.
“People are going to die without health care,” 54-year-old Nancy Brody Brooke, a Brooklyn-based artist, told the Daily News.
Conservative actor James Woods caught wind of the stunt Wednesday and, as you might imagine, took issue with its sentiments:
"These are the people we voted against," Woods wrote of the protesters. "Never forget how important it is that they should remain neutralized forever."
