A robbery gone wrong at a mall in San Antonio, Texas left one person dead and 5 injured Sunday evening.

Police who responded to the crime at Rolling Oaks Mall said the incident began when two suspects attempted to rob a jewelry store and were interrupted by what police called a "good Samaritan" who tried to stop them after they fled the scene. According to Yahoo News, one of the suspects then shot and killed that man.

"What we have here is a robbery gone really, really bad," [Chief of Police William] McManus said...A second individual, who was carrying a licensed concealed weapon, then shot and wounded the robber who had killed the person who intervened, McManus said.

The other suspect fled the mall and shot and wounded a man and a woman on his way out. Those two individuals, as well as the injured suspect, were taken to a local hospital, said San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood.

Two other mall patrons had non-incident-related injuries including chest pains and labor pains and were also transported to a local hospital.

During the lockdown, some mall patrons and employees were posting pictures online of what they were experiencing.

The condition of the people who were injured in the incident was not made available Sunday night. The other robber who fled the scene is still at large.
