Check out what a feminist bookstore did to male-authored books in honor of Women's History Month
March 07, 2017
A feminist-focused bookstore in Cleveland is giving female authors special attention for Women's History Month — by turning all fiction books by male authors with their spines facing inward on shelves.
The process of going through about 10,000 titles took the all-female staff at Loganberry Books about two hours to complete, WOIO-TV reported, adding that the male-authored books will stay that way for the next two weeks.
"Truly, this is a metaphor of silencing the male voice," longtime owner Harriett Logan told the Cleveland Scene. "At least for this month."
