Top House Dem takes a beating for 'incredulous' claim about the Obama administration

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, has been in the news a lot lately thanks to Congress' investigations into Russia's alleged meddling in last year's presidential election.

Schiff has used his newfound spotlight to make several political statements in recent weeks. On Friday, he took to Twitter to blast President Donald Trump for attempting to "tear down" the progress former President Barack Obama made on health care. During the process, Schiff claimed that the Obama administration was "seven remarkable years without scandal."

"After seven remarkable years of a President without scandal and millions of newly insured, this is finally their chance to tear it all down," Schiff tweeted, quoting a tweet from Trump about Friday's vote on the GOP plan to replace Obamacare.

However, facts stand in Schiff's way. On Obamacare, Democrats rammed it through Congress without a single Republican vote, even using budget reconciliation to bypass the 60 votes it needed in the Senate. In addition, scandal after scandal plagued the Obama administration, including: Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS targeting, NSA spying, Iran nuclear deal, Veterans Affair's scandal, Hillary Clinton's email scandal, just to name a few.

And Twitter did not let Schiff's "incredulous" claim make it past them:

Needless to say, the Obama administration was not without scandal.
