Chelsea Handler went off on President Donald Trump and the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, on Thursday night while discussing her interpretation of the Trumps' lack of concern for women's healthcare with fellow comedienne Sarah Silverman and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards.
Speaking about Planned Parenthood's role in women's health care, Richards said that Ivanka hasn't yet stepped up to stand with women.
"So far the White House has been a total zero on women and women's health, and I think Ivanka's job, now, is that she's in charge of all women's issues," Richards said. "So, this would be kind of time to step up."
Handler agreed and noted that she believes that Ivanka hasn't stepped up because she's just a puppet of the Trump administration.
"Do you think that she has any influence at all?" Handler asked Silverman.
Admitting that she's sent Ivanka direct messages on Twitter, Silverman interjected that she'd previously asked Ivanka to stand up for women and to act a liaison between her president father and women at large.
"I'm so dead inside when it comes to all of this," Silverman responded. "I feel so disheartened. I actually saw she follows me on Twitter and I direct messaged her and I was like, 'This is your chance. You are writing your life story here.'"
Handler added that she feels like Ivanka isn't brave enough to stand up to her father for what she may or may not feel is right.
“You need to tell that f**king a**hole ‘This is an unacceptable way to treat women," Handler said, referencing Ivanka and her father. "We’re moving backwards!”
