Indiana police are investigating an incident that occurred on Tuesday on Indianapolis's Interstate-465 which saw a Dodge pickup truck shot at multiple times. The truck was flying a pro-Trump "Make America Great Again" flag as well as an American flag.
Law enforcement reports that they are investigating whether this is a case of road rage, or whether the attack was politically motivated.
Police reported that the truck was fired at multiple times, and one of the bullets struck the vehicle.
The suspect allegedly pulled up next to the truck and pulled out a handgun, firing several rounds at the vehicle.
Witnesses to the incident described the suspect as a light-skinned black male in his early 20s with a sleeve tattoo. Reports claimed that the driver was operating a white Chevy Malibu with Louisiana plates.
“At this point it seems to be an isolated incident,” Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine told The Indianapolis Star in a statement. “We’re not even sure that it’s connected to the flags, or if it was just a case of road rage.”
The police reported that no one was hurt in the shooting, and that they have yet to apprehend the suspect.
