VIDEO: Crook can't convince store clerk to fork over cash — so suspect gets an even brighter idea

You'd think some folks would just leave well enough alone.

But alas, no.

Case in point: Seems an individual demanded cash from an employee at a Washington, D.C., gas station on the morning of Jan. 13, authorities told WJLA-TV.

No dice. The employee refused, police told the station.

So rather than, think twice — well, in this case it only would've been once — and just walk out the door and keep walking, the suspect got yet another bright idea.

Would you believe pouring liquid on the counter, and then lighting it on fire?

Well, that's just what the suspect did, police told the station upon releasing surveillance video of the incident at the gas station on the 1800 block of Rhode Island Avenue.

No one was injured in the fire, WJLA said, adding that police are still looking for the suspect.
