Roseanne Barr says she's received a lot of offers to go back on TV and 'I might do it

Comedian Roseanne Barr revealed in a recent podcast interview with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach that she'd received numerous offers since being fired by ABC from her namesake show "Roseanne" in May following a racist tweet.

"Inside every bad thing is a good thing waiting to happen," Barr told Boteach. "I feel very excited because I already have been offered so many things and I've almost accepted one really good offer to go back on TV, and I might do it. But we'll see."

Barr didn't share any details about the offers, but she did tell Boteach that she's "happy as hell" because she's had a lot of time to spend studying the Torah, lately.

What else did she say?

It was Barr's second time to chat with Boteach since the show's cancellation.

The podcast was recorded on Wednesday and released Saturday night. You can listen to it here.

Barr, who is Jewish, spent much of the 71-minute discussion talking about her faith and the Torah.

The comedian said she had been working through the steps for repentance which includes accepting responsibility, asking forgiveness from the aggrieved party, restitution, and rectification of the sin.

Barr said she didn't ask for any money when she reached an agreement with ABC to create a "Roseanne" spinoff called "The Conners."

"I thought signing off of my own life’s work and asking for nothing in return I thought that was a penance," Barr told Boteach. "Sometimes you ask people what do you think should be done to you know what you’ve done wrong and it seems that people always know what should be done to them. I just knew that was the right thing and I want to do the right thing because I’ve lived my life, most part of it, to do the right thing for all people, not just Jews."

Barr apologized to Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to then President Barack Obama, the same day she made her racist tweet but admitted to Boteach that she hasn't yet offered a private apology to Jarrett.

"I do [plan to call]," she said. "But once again, it’s all about right words and you have to do a lot of meditating and praying for the right words and I just don’t know what the right words would be."

What else?

Much of the show’s cast, including John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky), and Michael Fishman (D.J.) are expected to reprise their characters on "The Conners."

“I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne,” Barr said in a statement following ABC's announcement June 21. “I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew be saved and I wish the best for everyone.”
