Incredibly distasteful

Amazon is selling Jeffrey Epstein suicide-related merchandise on its online marketplace platform.

Epstein, 66, was found dead in his New York jail cell earlier in August. Medical examiners later decided that the embattled billionaire financier, who was accused of child sex trafficking, died by suicide.

What are the details?

Amazon is selling items such as T-shirts, mugs, and more on its marketplace through third-party sellers.

One such T-shirt, emblazoned with text "I committed suicide," features a photo of Epstein wearing a halo.

Another one features Epstein in what appears to be a weapon's crosshairs. He is flanked by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. A hashtag reads "#ClintonBodyCount."

Other retailers, such eBay, Shopify, Etsy, and Teespring, which also listed similar items, pulled their listings down after outcry.

EBay issued the following statement on the Epstein-related products on Tuesday.

"eBay does not tolerate the sale of any item that seeks to profit from human suffering or tragedy," the company told The Verge. "This listing was removed as it was in breach of our Disaster and Human Tragedy policy. Our teams have been closely monitoring the marketplace to remove items of this nature. It's also worth nothing that any customer can use the 'Report an item' link on a listing page to have it promptly removed."
