Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis played off of the popular "Let's go Brandon" meme on Wednesday by jokingly referring to President Joe Biden's administration as the "Brandon administration."

Shortly after the governor's comment people could be heard chanting "Let's go Brandon."

The expression "Let's go Brandon" is a euphemism for the profane expression "F*** Joe Biden," and has rapidly been embraced by many Americans as a means of expressing their displeasure with the current president.

The meme originated last month when a reporter was interviewing Brandon Brown, who had just won a NASCAR race.

During the interview people in the crowd were chanting "F*** Joe Biden."

The reporter remarked "you can hear the chants from the, the crowd—let's go Brandon."

The phrase "Let's go Brandon" was swiftly embraced by many Biden opponents as a jab against the president.

GOP Rep. Bill Posey of Florida inserted "Let's go Brandon" at the end of remarks on the House floor last month.

DeSantis, a conservative Republican who has become a very popular figure the political right, is up for reelection next year.

During his speech on Wednesday the governor discussed several election integrity reforms that he wants the state lawmakers to approve during the next legislative session. "First, we are gonna create a separate office at the state level solely dedicated to investigating and prosecuting election crimes in the state of Florida," DeSantis said during his remarks. One of the other issues he mentioned included making ballot harvesting a third-degree felony.
