'Greatest correction in the history of journalism!': Donald Trump Jr. hails WaPo after it says crowd at September speech was chanting 'F*** Joe Biden!' not 'Let's Go Brandon'

Donald Trump Jr. is hailing a correction from the Washington Post after the outlet said it had inaccurately reported that a crowd chanted "Let's go Brandon" at a Trump Jr. speech last month in Georgia. The crowd had actually chanted "F*** Joe Biden!," according to the Post.

"Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly said a crowd broke into a "Let's go Brandon" chant during a Donald Trump Jr. speech in Georgia. The crowd broke into a "F--- Joe Biden!" chant at that speech in September. The error, which was inserted by an editor, has been corrected," the outlet explained.

"This is the greatest correction in the history of journalism!" Trump Jr. tweeted. "Thanks @washingtonpost."

The expression "Let's go Brandon" has rapidly become a popular euphemism for the profane expression "F*** Joe Biden."

Early in October as an NBC Sports reporter interviewed Brandon Brown who had just won a NASCAR race, crowds could be heard chanting "F*** Joe Biden."

"Brandon, you also told me, as you can hear the chants from the, the crowd—let's go Brandon," the reporter said amid the crowd's profane chant.

In the days since then, the expression "Let's go Brandon" has been embraced by many Biden opponents and become quite popular.

Last week, U.S. Rep. Bill Posey (R-Florida) interjected the phrase at the conclusion of a floor speech.

"Driving through Virginia this morning and I see plenty of 'Let's Go Brandon' signs," Newsmax White House correspondent Emerald Robinson tweeted on Monday morning.

"South Carolina @RepJeffDuncan just walked off the floor with a "Let's Go Brandon" mask on," Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News tweeted on Monday evening.
