Joe Scarborough positively trashes 'woke' Dems over Betsy Ross flag shoes and more

He's not wrong

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough torched "woke Democrats" on Twitter over their political correctness and missing the boat on beating President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

What did he say?

In a lengthy Twitter tirade, the "Morning Joe" host said that the party's misplaced values could likely cost them the upcoming election.

Scarborough started off by raving over Nike's decision to pull Betsy Ross flag-inspired shoes from the market after activists — specifically former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick — complained that they were a throwback to a racist era in the United States.

He later went on to point out Dems' policy positions for the 2020 election, and added that the party is "blowing themselves up politically" and "setting [themselves] on fire."

In a lengthy series of social media posts, Scarborough wrote, "The Betsy Ross flag is now a symbol of White Nationalism and slavery? Not defiance against a distant monarchy? Really, Nike? PC madness is accelerating just in time for 2020. Trump feeds on your reflexive Wokeness. Great job, everybody."

"Democratic candidates," he continued, "you now support: (1) universal health care for illegal immigrants, (2) making illegally crossing America's borders legal, and, (3) a return to forced busing. Do you also now support the banning of the Betsy Ross flag from public places? #WokeNation."

"Let me disabuse Woke Democrats of the notion that I expect them to adjust their beliefs and strategies to suit former Republicans," Scarborough added. "I don't. But I do want them to refrain from blowing themselves up politically and re-electing Trump."

"But y'all be y'all," he continued, "and lose another election to Trump that you should have won. And start by continuing to fight those who want him beaten just as badly."

"Stop setting yourself on fire. Just beat Trump," Scarborough warned.

What else?

Scarborough went on to explain that he'd probably end up deleting his rant, which has circled broadly across Twitter.

"Enough venting," he promised. "I have broken every rule I made for myself on Twitter. I'm now going to delete these tweets over the past hour and tell those who I've gone back and forth with that we all want to vote Trump out of office next year. Everything else is a distraction. #BeatTrump."
