Nancy Pelosi takes a shot at Ocasio-Cortez — here's what she said

Maybe she's just a little bit jealous?

House Speaker took a jab at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her popularity on social media and elsewhere in an interview published Monday.

The powerful Democratic leader mocked the upstart Socialist Democrat by making reference to her social media following, which is expansive.

"While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers," Pelosi said to USA Today, "what's important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House."

Ocasio-Cortez has more than 4 million followers on her Twitter account, far more than any other Democratic freshman member of Congress.

She has been criticized by many in the Democratic party for wanting to push them too far left much too quickly.

One of the more prominent efforts led by Ocasio-Cortez was the "Green New Deal," which was mocked widely by the left after she released a FAQ document with extreme and bizarre proposals in her attempt to combat global warming.

She later deleted the document from her website, and blamed a staffer for prematurely releasing it.
