Rocker Pink has another message for those who want to tell her how to parent: Get your own kids
August 02, 2019
She didn't hold back
Pink issued an unmistakeable show of support for fellow entertainer Jessica Simpson after social media blasted Simpson for dyeing her 7-year-old daughter's hair.
What's the background?
Earlier this week, the 39-year-old Simpson shared a photo on Instagram featuring her daughter, who took a recent trip to the hair salon. Simpson's blonde daughter, Maxwell, ended up having the ends of her hair dyed several shades of what appear to be pink, purple, and blue.
Simpson received heavy backlash for the decision to color her daughter's hair, and many Instagram users insisted that she was a poor mother for allowing her 7-year-old daughter to do such a thing.
What did Pink say?
In an Instagram photo of her own, the 39-year-old Pink voiced her support for Simpson and her daughter.
Pink — real name Alecia Beth Moore — shared a photo of herself dyeing her own daughter's hair (who is 9 years old).
She shared the photo on Instagram and captioned it, "I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored. So we thought we'd share what we did yesterday . #bluehairdontcare #getyourownkids #parentpoliceareactuallyjustlonelysadpeople #illdyeyourhairtoolosers #ohlookmanocomments."
Anything else?
Pink and her husband are not strangers to telling other parents to mind their business when it comes to others' children.
In January, social media users ganged up on Pink's husband, Carey Hart, after he shared a video of the couple's daughter shooting a rifle.
Hart, a former professional motocross competitor, shared an Instagram video featuring his daughter shooting the weapon.
"Haven't poked the parent police bear in a few days," he captioned the video.
"Willz and I shooting the 22 rifle," Hart later explained. "She is getting pretty good. Can hit a 12 inch pie plate from 30 yards. Started her shooting at 3yrs old."
Despite appearing to be an educated and safe gun owner, Hart received backlash for the video.
"For the record," he later added, "non [sic] of us hunt, just enjoy shooting for sport. I'm raising the kids with the knowledge of fire arms, how to handle them, shoot them, store them, and avoid them in uneducated hands."
"#knowledgeispower," he concluded.
