University to reimburse students after leftist professor forced class to purchase subscription to her website, proceeds allegedly donated to Planned Parenthood

Michigan State University recently agreed to reimburse a class of business marketing students after their former professor forced them to purchase a $99 subscription to her own website. The proceeds were allegedly donated to Planned Parenthood and put toward a "cancel the patriarchy" RV, New Guard reported.

According to the news outlet, leftist professor Amy Wisner required students in her Marketing Communications course to annually subscribe to her "Patriarchy Rebellion Community" website.

The website boasts a "virtual community" that "exists far, far away from the internet bullies and trolls."

Wisner wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post last year, "The Rebellion community is a safe place to coordinate our efforts to burn everything to the f***ing ground."

She also noted that "100% of membership fees are donated to Planned Parenthood."

On a GoFundMe page operated by Wisner, she stated that the proceeds go toward purchasing an RV to "cancel the patriarchy" on a "roadtrip around the United States to co-create communities of rebels committed to doing the work together."

Shortly after news of her forced website subscriptions broke in February, she was placed on leave. Wisner, who started teaching at MSU in 2011, was recently removed from the school's directory.

The university's dean contacted students to inform them that Wisner would no longer be instructing the course and that they would be reimbursed for the subscription fee.

"We conducted a review of the MKT 250 Business Communication class and assignment materials based on feedback," the dean wrote. "Professor Van Hof will serve as your instructor for the remainder of the semester. You will receive a one-time credit for $99.00 to reimburse you for the subscription to The Rebellion Community as this material will no longer be required for the course."

"Please review The Rebellion Community policy regarding subscription renewal," the dean added. "MSU will not provide reimbursement for subscription renewals."

New Guard estimated that Wisner could have swindled her students out of more than $120,000 over two years.

It is unclear where the university plans to get the funds to reimburse students or whether Wisner will be forced to forfeit her website's profits.

Wisner's Patriarchy Rebellion Community website is now inaccessible. However, a second website run by the professor, "Cancel the Patriarchy," is still live and is described as "a community of rebels unlearning toxic expectations of patriarchy."

In 2021, Wisner gave a TEDxMSU talk called "Awaken the Rebel Within: Reject the Rules and Discover Your Truth," in which she blamed the "patriarchy" for her poor dating decisions and encouraged women to become single mothers by choice.

Neither MSU nor Wisner replied to a request for comment, New Guard and the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.
