Horowitz: Gold Star wife laments that her son can’t join the military due to senseless mandate

“I’m a Gold Star wife and have two teenage sons. Monday, Feb 28, marks the ten-year anniversary of my husband being killed in the line of duty,” said Teresa Taylor of Mobile, Alabama. “It’s gut-wrenching that my sons can’t even follow in their father’s footsteps because of the evil injection mandates.”

Teresa, who lost her husband, Lt. Commander Dale Taylor, in a training accident in Mobile Bay 10 years ago, reached out to Blaze Media to discuss the double tragedy of her children being excluded from the military.

“The love of aviation and everything military was passed down through the bloodline to my sons,” said Teresa, regarding the military aspirations of her 17- and 14-year-old boys. “They have always wanted to be just like their dad and follow in his footsteps, even knowing the great risk and sacrifice it requires. This summer my oldest son will be able to apply to attend a summer preview program at the United States Coast Guard Academy. He should be looking forward to such an opportunity. Yet even as a minor, in order to attend, he is required to be injected multiple times with an experimental therapeutic with questionable efficacy.”

As tragic as it is to lose your father at seven years old, Teresa believes her son was able to come to peace with the fact that his father died for a heroic cause and did so bravely. “However, as young men, they are unable to accept or comprehend the losses they now mourn,” lamented Taylor, referring to the military mandates. “Feeling like a knife into already broken hearts, today’s military is grossly unrecognizable to those who have served it faithfully. Forced injection mandates, blanket denials of religious accommodations, blatant refusals to uphold constitutional rights, and outright rejection of the inherent right to choose what goes into one’s body by the United States military are common practices – devastating losses of individual freedoms.”

Teresa struggles to explain to her son that he can’t even visit the Coast Guard in hopes of following his father’s legacy because he didn’t get an experimental jab that everyone agrees is now outdated.

What so many Americans fail to see is that both political parties are trying to gradually let the pressure out of the COVID fascism balloon just enough to skate by the elections. As such, they are starting to terminate the broad-based mandates that affect most voters. But the military is still suffering, and that might possibly be permanent. For Teresa, this is particularly tragic, because the Coast Guard is a much smaller branch and forms a tight-knit community.

Having her 17-year-old son denied entry on account of this shot is absurd on a number of accounts:

  • The shots simply do not work for the version of the virus that is in circulation, and there is growing evidence of negative efficacy.
  • Even when the shots did work, they never stopped transmission.
  • Teenagers simply are not at risk for serious illness from COVID, rendering any benefit from the shots against serious illness moot. An Israeli study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found ZERO deaths or severe illnesses BOTH in the vaccinated and in the control (unvaccinated) groups of 12- to 18-year-olds in a 29-day follow-up of their vaccination.
  • There are numerous concerns of growing safety issues that have been raised, particularly in the military population. For example, whistleblowers are alleging that they are seeing numerous ailments from the vaccine, including a sharp spike in neurological disorders. According to emails obtained by the Epoch Times, the FDA and NIH are separately studying incidents of nervous system injuries from the shots.
  • While the military has mandated shots before, there was never a shot that had such a strong safety concern for heart issues among the most common demographic of the military: males 18-24. The CDC, in a study in published in JAMA, just conceded that the VAERS data on myocarditis was indeed an accurate reflection of an increased risk of heart inflammation following the vaccines. “Based on passive surveillance reporting in the US, the risk of myocarditis after receiving mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines was increased across multiple age and sex strata and was highest after the second vaccination dose in adolescent males and young men,” concluded the CDC researchers. “This risk should be considered in the context of the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination.”

How can Republicans agree to fund the government with an omnibus bill by the March 11 deadline without first demanding the termination of the senseless military mandate? Many Republicans defended their votes as an effort to ensure there is no government shutdown that might delay a week’s pay for the soldiers. But isn’t it worth risking a temporary delay to prevent permanent damage to the entire military? If this remains permanent, every teenager who rightfully opted not to take the shots will be barred from the military, which includes the overwhelming majority of kids who already have stronger natural immunity.

Teresa, for her part, has poured her soul into the military. She serves on the advisory board of Veterans Recovery Resources. She wrote a book, “Night Flight,” in 2014 as a tribute to her husband so that her children would be imbued with the same love for the military. Yet that same military leadership no longer loves them back.

“My son recalls, ‘I remember at my dad’s memorial service hearing them say the Coast Guard will always be my family.’ Ten years later, he can’t help but wonder, are they really my guardians now?”
