Bill O’Reilly: Here’s why Trump and ‘Morning Joe’ hosts both benefit from his tweets

Bill O’Reilly joined Friday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program” to talk about President Donald Trump’s latest Twitter war with “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

“Trump reacts emotionally to criticism,” O’Reilly said, remembering a time that he criticized Trump and was told he needed to get a psychiatrist. “He was angry with me because I didn’t do what he wanted me to do.”

In response to some mocking commentary, Trump tweeted a strange message to the TV hosts, calling Scarborough “Psycho Joe” and accusing Brzezinski of “bleeding badly from a face-lift.” But both Trump and the MSNBC hosts benefit from the encounter, O’Reilly asserted.

“They know that hating Trump is good for business,” he said.

Glenn Beck summed up his theory: “They’re doing it for ratings; he’s doing it for votes and popularity.”

O’Reilly had a grim response to people wondering how to deal with the president’s immaturity and bring the divided country back together.

“There’s nothing you can do,” he said. “Trump’s not going to change.”
