Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) confirmed that President Donald Trump was not under investigation for having untoward ties to Russia. They disclosed this via a statement made during a Judiciary Committee meeting.
Chris Salcedo shared these statements on today's "Chris Salcedo Show." Grassley specifically said they "heard nothing that contradicted the President's statement [that he was not under investigation]." Feinstein corroborated, stating "it's very accurate, and we were briefed."
Virginia Senator Mike Warner (D) would not make the same confirmation to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Wallace asked "Did Comey ever tell you as he apparently told Senators Grassley and Feinstein as they revealed it today in a public session that the president in fact is not target of the investigation?"
Warner responded "Chris, I believe for the good of the country it's also important I keep classified information classified."
Chris wondered when we could expect Senators Feinstein and Grassley to be arrested. If they have actually shared classified information, as Warner's response implies, they have broken the law, specifically United States code 18-798.
He predicted there would be no arrest forthcoming because neither of the senators released classified information by stating that the president is not under investigation for collusion with Russia.
