Glenn has a guitar from Hank Williams

Did you know Glenn Beck owns a guitar that was a gift from Hank Williams, Jr.?

Glenn told the story on Thursday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program” when Texas-based country singer Aaron Watson dropped by the studio.

He said that Williams gave him the guitar after the controversy over his lead-in on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” Williams performed the song asking sports fans “are you ready for some football?” until ESPN pulled his lead-in from the program following the backlash over his comments on then-President Barack Obama.

As Glenn described the story, Williams smashed a bunch of guitars after his song was pulled from “Monday Night Football, but he had one left.

“’I was about to take the last one and smash it, and I decided, it’s gotta go to Beck,’” Glenn remembered him saying.
