Kim Kardashian wants guns taken away from the mentally ill ... or if you drive without a license

A certain reality TV star decided to speak out about gun control this week – even though she depends on armed protection to stay safe.

Kim Kardashian wrote an open letter advocating for more gun control in time for National Gun Violence Awareness Day, claiming Second Amendment advocates are putting guns before kids’ safety. Mike Broomhead broke down her argument while standing in for Glenn Beck on Wednesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”

“Is it more important to protect the Second Amendment than to protect our own children?” Kardashian asked in the letter.

Kardashian explained that she isn’t opposed to gun ownership but believes that greater gun control measures will stop tragedies like Sandy Hook or Aurora from happening.

“[I] believe that we should restrict access to firearms for people with mental illness, anyone previously convicted of a misdemeanor, those who have been subject to a temporary restraining order and those at higher risk of committing gun violence,” she listed the restrictions she would add to current gun laws.

Mike asserted that these new laws would be a draconian infringement on our Second Amendment rights, taking away someone’s right to own a gun over minor offenses.

“So if you’re convicted of trespassing, they should take your gun away?” he asked.

A shooting in Florida this week rekindled the gun control debate. The suspected shooter, who killed six people, including himself, was reportedly a disgruntled former employee.
