Is the media overselling Pete Buttigieg or has Mayor Pete run a successful campaign?

Election 2020

"America with Eric Bolling" host Eric Bolling sat down with Washington Examiner commentary writer Eddie Scarry on Tuesday and discussed the campaign of Mayor Pete Buttigieg compared to other Democrats in the 2020 race.

In this clip, Bolling asserted that Buttigieg had run the most successful campaign of all the candidates campaigning to secure the Democratic Party nomination in the 2020 United States presidential election. But Scarry suggested that Buttigieg was all hype.

"He came out of nowhere with less than 1 percent approval, name recognition. He's popping up and knocking the door at No. 2 right now next to Biden," Bolling said.

On the other hand, Scarry argued the media was "overselling" Buttigieg's campaign and asserted that Mayor Pete "lied a lot."

"One example is that he said that illegal immigrants do not take welfare and that he would be happy happy to have [illegal immigrants] come into his city," Scarry argued.
