CDC warns coronavirus outbreak in US is not a matter of if, but when

Are you prepared?

According to top officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an outbreak of novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, in the U.S. is inevitable, stating that it's not a question of if, but when it will happen.

"We expect we will see community spread in this country. It's not so much a question of if this will happen anymore but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness," said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the head of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, during a press briefing Wednesday.

On the radio program Thursday, Glenn Beck discussed what a COVID-19 outbreak would look like in the United States. The CDC said school closures, postponed events, and self-quarantine are all possibilities.
