Nancy Pelosi misquotes stats on childhood hunger in the US

Pelosi gave remarks on AOC and the 2020 election

On Tuesday's episode of "Pat Gray Unleashed," Pat highlighted remarks made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) regarding the number of children in the United States who are food deficient.

What did Pelosi say?

In this clip, Pat commented on remarks Pelosi made when she spoke at the London School of Economics and Political Science on Monday. Pelosi misquoted government statistics, stating that one in five children go to bed without dinner every single night.

"Stop it, that happens very rarely," Pat said.

The facts

According to the Census Bureau's most recent house security survey, less than 1 percent of children in the U.S. go to bed hungry. Pat emphasized that if one in five children went to bed hungry each night then we would be the "laughing stock of the entire industrialized world."
