Now known as the "Waffle House hero," James Shaw Jr. stopped an active killer who was shooting people in a Tennessee Waffle House last month.
But Shaw isn't calling his own actions heroic. In an interview with CNN over the weekend, he was up front about his personal survival motive for rushing the attacker and refused to be less than gracious even when asked about President Donald Trump, who apparently hasn't yet acknowledged Shaw's bravery.
"I know he has a busy agenda, a busy schedule. Maybe he just hasn't got around to me. Maybe my time is coming," Shaw said of the president.
On today's show, Glenn praised Shaw's courage and quick thinking that helped save lives as well as his humility and honesty despite being flooded with praise.
"The world needs more human beings like James Shaw Jr.," Glenn said.
