Even Bernie Sanders refuses to go as far as this progressive candidate for NY governor
June 25, 2018
What's going on?
President Donald Trump warned in a speech over the weekend that Democrats want to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On today's show, Doc and Kris talked about whether that statement is accurate.
The latest Democrat talking point?
New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon has called ICE a "terrorist organization" and said the federal agency should be abolished. But Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who hasn't shied away from socialism, dodged a question about ICE in a CNN interview. When asked if the agency should be abolished, Sanders said that instead, Congress should pass immigration reform "in a rational way."
You know it's bad when ...
People think the solution to the border problem and family separation is getting rid of the people who enforce the law instead of, you know, actually reforming the law.
Doc's take:
"These nutcases are blaming ICE for enforcing the law," Doc said of Nixon and other progressives want ICE abolished. "They're not the bad guys; they're doing their job."
