Flashback: Joe Biden quote shows why gun owners shouldn't be blamed for mass murders?

What's going on?

Should we blame law-abiding gun owners for every mass murder?

Obviously not, but on today's show, Stu went back to an old interview with former Vice President Joe Biden to help prove his point.

What did Biden say?

During a Q&A session in 2013, Biden told people to "buy a shotgun" if they worry about protecting their families. His point at the time was that a shotgun provides sufficient protection and no one needs an AR-15-style rifle.

"You don't need 30 rounds to protect yourself," Biden said. "Buy a shotgun."

Oh ...

On Thursday, five people were killed and more were injured at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland when a man came into the newsroom and used a shotgun to take down as many people as possible.

Is Biden at fault for advising Americans to purchase shotguns? Absolutely not. But as Stu pointed out, we also shouldn't blame responsible gun owners for these horrifying mass murders.
