Glenn Beck challenges 'democratic-socialist' Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: 'Show me the numbers

Self-proclaimed "democratic-socialist" Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a progressive checklist on Twitter which purported to distinguish the acceptable form of progressivism. Ocasio-Cortez was the unlikely victor last month when she won the nomination for New York's 14th Congressional District beating a longtime member of Congress, House Democratic Caucus chair, Rep. Joe Crowley.

What is "democratic socialism"?

According to Wikipedia, the only difference between "socialism" and "democratic socialism" is that by putting the word "democratic" in front of the word "socialism" it sets it apart from Marxist-Leninist inspired socialism. That still doesn't make it OK.

Democratic socialists also don't believe in a reformed type of capitalism, rather they believe in an all-out systemic transformation from capitalism to socialism where the state intervenes and redistributes wealth and private enterprise in order to curtail social inequities.

By that standard, Ocasio-Cortez declared on Twitter that when she calls a candidate a "progressive" it's "because they meet ALL of these standards":

On Monday's episode of "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn challenged those who believe in "democratic-socialism" to lay out a plan detailing how they plan on paying for all these "free" things.
