Glenn recounts his firsthand experience with being the target of public shaming
December 06, 2016
Glenn Beck recalls a time when he and his family were mocked and accosted while visiting Bryant Park in New York City. A small, verbally abusive crowd gathered once news of the harassment spread on social media, and the Beck family felt pressured to hurriedly vacate the park. Jon Ronson, author of "So You've Been Publicly Shamed," uses this story to illustrate a troubling trend in American society.
"I think kind of conciliatory centrism has become really unfashionable," Jon opines. "I really admire anybody who's trying to move away from this kind of, you know, pollution of polarization, and I've noticed that that's what you've been doing lately, Glenn, and I really appreciate that."
