Couple and their dog rescued nearly two months after snow trapped them in remote cabin
February 04, 2022
Winter storm alerts often lead to empty shelves at your local grocery stores as frenzied consumers panic buy food and water.
"Snowed-in" for most typically means school closures and a couple of days off work. But for one Northern California couple, "snowed-in" has meant a nearly two-month matter of life and death.
Since early December, a couple and their dog had been trapped in a cabin after downed trees and heavy snow kept them locked in. According to KCRA3, the California Highway Patrol's Valley Division, Air Operations received a call from the Sierra County Sheriff's Office about the couple and their dog "after they started running low on supplies."
The pair's names have not been released; both adults, and their dog, were rescued Tuesday. Video shared by CHP.
