Texas Rep. excoriates FBI agent, accuses him of lying under oath the same way he 'lied' to his wife
July 13, 2018
It was a blistering exchange during a Congressional hearing yesterday between GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert and Democratic Rep. David Cicilline regarding whether or not Peter Strzok was lying under oath. Gohmert suggested Strzok was more than likely lying under oath the same way he lied to his "innocent" wife while bedding another colleague.
Strzok is under scrutiny over a series of anti-Trump text messages between him and Lisa Paige.
"I've talked to FBI agents around the country, you've embarrassed them, you've embarrassed yourself, and I can't help but wonder when I see you sitting there with your little smirk. How many times did you look so innocent into your wife's eye and lie to her?" declared Gohmert. FBI Agent Peter Strzok was removed from the special counsel's investigation of Russian meddling during the 2016 presidential election after a series of biased text messages between him and Lisa Paige surfaced.
This accusation was met with loud objections by colleagues who considered his remarks to be out of line.
