Watch: An FBI agent was dismissed from the Mueller probe. What happened?
December 08, 2017
What happened?
CNN has reported that Peter Strzok, a former counterintelligence expert at the FBI, changed the description of Hillary Clinton’s email use in James Comey’s description from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless.”
Strzok was removed from the investigation of Russian election meddling by special counsel Robert Mueller after he reportedly shared anti-Trump comments in private messages.
What’s the difference between “negligent” and “careless”?
One description is a slap on the wrist; the other could result in a criminal conviction. Federal law has penalties for “gross negligence” related to how classified information is handled.
Glenn’s take:
Are the FBI and Department of Justice biased? Glenn wondered on today’s show why Michael Flynn was nailed for lying to the FBI, while key Clinton aides were not.
“Who’s watching the watchers?” Glenn asked.
