Remind me:
Nearly a year ago, the Trump administration tried to enforce a travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries that a federal district court found to be discriminatory. After multiple lawsuits, the travel ban was stopped from including green card holders and other permanent legal residents, and a modified third version of the order has gotten the OK from the Supreme Court for now.
What’s next?
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hold arguments on the ban this week to analyze its legality. The Supreme Court is aiming to give a final ruling on the issue by the end of this term (June 2018).
Glenn’s take:
Glenn pointed out that if we were truly banning Muslims from the U.S., the ban would have affected travel to and from the most populous Muslim-majority countries, a list that includes India and Pakistan.
