Watch: Texas shooter was convicted of assault for fracturing his stepson's skull

The small-town community of Sutherland Springs, Texas is still reeling from Sunday's attack where a gunman shot nearly everyone in a church. We're learning more about the shooter, his violent history and the reasons he never should have been able to legally purchase a weapon in the first place.

On today's show, Glenn shared the latest updates: The attack seems to be related to domestic violence since the gunman's mother-in-law attended the church and had received threatening messages from him. She was not there that morning.

The shooter, who was pursued by two armed locals after the horrifying incident and died after three gunshot wounds, was convicted of assault while serving in the Air Force after attacking his wife and stepson. The Air Force said Monday that his conviction was not entered into a federal database that should have flagged him when he purchased a gun.
