Video: The 9/12 Project -- what's happening now

The day after the worst terrorist attack to ever happen on American soil, the citizens of our great country were at their best, united in “common values and principles,” according to Glenn Beck. Americans put aside their differences to stand together and help one another regardless of race, religion, or political views. It was this unprecedented unity and strength in the face of adversity that inspired the “9/12 Project.”

First launched in 2006, Glenn called his project “9/12” both to recall the “unity and togetherness” exhibited on that noteworthy date, and to represent “9 principles and 12 values” which he felt were at the heart of the movement.

Today on a special 9/12 anniversary “Glenn,” show,  Glenn had this to say of the project:

“Now may be the time that the 9/12 Project would actually be more powerful than it ever was because, the thing that bothered me about the 9/12 Project is it kept becoming about politics. Because people couldn’t see the longer term vision and it seemed meaningless. The values and the principles seemed meaningless at the time, I think, to a lot of people. And it wasn’t. It was to prepare you for troubled times … and we’re here now. […] Now perhaps, the 9/12 project would have a chance to actually thrive.”

“It did thrive,” objected Stu Burguiere, who was part of the 9/12 Project during (among others) an August 28, 2010 rally in Washington, D.C. called “Restoring Honor” which attracted an estimated 500,000 attendees.

“You were standing on the set when we did the 9/12 Project,” Glenn said to Stu. “What did you take away? What did you see? What did you believe then and what do you believe now?”
